Kovács Gabriella – Language teaching with a coaching approach

This workshop addresses language and communication coaching from the perspective of how it supports autonomous language learning and communication development for teenagers and adults. After a short theoretical overview, attendees will see activities that increase efficiency and decrease stress around challenging scenarios. Applying coaching supports teacher and learner well-being. The aim is to increase awareness of the learning journey by providing a framework that moves away from planning, expectations and fixed solutions towards a more learner-centred process.

Gabriella will show attendees how to utilise coaching tools and techniques to address learner autonomy, responsibility, metacognition, motivation and success. This interactive workshop will help attendees see how to reduce the spoonfeeding factor and move from burdening to empowering in a few easy steps.

Australian-born Gabriella Kovács PCC is an internationally certified language coach with ICF, a business communication trainer, language teacher (B.Ed., M.A.), teacher trainer and international speaker. She collaborates as programme leader with Üzletikommunikáció.hu. She co-founded ILCA, the International Language Coaching Association, supporting language practitioners and clients globally.
