Neil Anderson – Mind the Gap: Maximising meaningful communication online

It can be hard enough motivating some students to speak in the face-to-face classroom: doing so online can be even more problematic. This interactive session will look at why this is, and what we can do when planning and teaching to ensure students are ready and motivated to speak. We’ll consider how to make speaking genuinely communicative and how to exploit the “gap” between speakers.

Neil Anderson is Head of Training at Euroexam International. He is a CELTA and DELTA trainer and the co-author of Activities for Task-Based Learning and the blog Fluency First ELT (https://fluencyfirstelt.blog/).
